Peeved ‘Partridge’
Former “Partridge Family” star David Cassidy is suing show distributor Sony — claiming he’s owed millions in royalties.
Cassidy claims that Sony used his image on merchandising, without his permission, for 40 years.
He says that he’s only been paid $5,000 thus far, according to tmz.com.
“The Partridge Family” aired on ABC from 1970 to 1974, but has had a second life in reruns and from its baby-boomer appeal and shlock value.
Cassidy, 61, is asking for millions of dollars in damages while suing for breach-of-contract and fraud.
“We have dealt with Mr. Cassidy in a completely lawful and appropriate way, and are confident that we will prevail in any proceeding,” a Sony lawyer told tmz.com.
