BRIDGEPORT, Mo. — Rapper Lil Wayne was recovering Monday after a skateboarding accident that sent him to a Missouri hospital to get nine stitches over his eye, KTVI-TV reported.
Lil Wayne, 28, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, performed Sunday night at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis. After the show, Carter went to a local skate park, where he crashed and suffered a gash over his left eye, according to TMZ.
His entourage brought him to the emergency room at the DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton, Mo. — about 24 miles northwest of St. Louis — where he was given nine stitches for his wound and released.
Carter was in good spirits Monday morning, tweeting, “The Lou was good but I busted my [expletive] head at the sk8park! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye!”
