Russell Armstrong’s suicide two weeks before the debut of Season 2 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” may have been murder, his family has said.

Armstrong’s death was officially declared a suicide by hanging, but his relatives think foul play may have been involved — and they are stumping for a murder investigation, according to reports.

“Not one of us — his family — believe he committed suicide,” Armstrong’s sister, Laurie Kelsoe, told gossip site rumorfix.com.

Armstrong was estranged from his wife, “Housewife” star Taylor.

Meanwhile, sources told gossip site TMZ that Armstrong’s family is also in the process of hiring a private investigator to look into what really happened.

According to those sources, the family believes that the source of Armstrong’s money problems was hanging with the wrong people, who may have been responsible for his death.

Still, the timing of the latest coroner’s report could not have been worse for the family’s suspicions.

Yesterday, the coroner reported that no drugs or alcohol were found in Armstrong’s system, reinforcing the initial finding of suicide.

Last Monday’s season premiere drew about 2.2 million viewers — up about 650,000 viewers from its Season 1 premiere last year.
