AN actress who scammed millions from investors with a phony reality show about the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was sentenced to a short term over the weekend.
Alison Ann Heruth made a deal with prosecutors last summer that was supposed to spare her jail time.
But a judge in California sentenced her to 10 days in jail when she failed to find regular employment, fell short of her required hours of community service and broke a pledge to pay $250 each month in court-ordered restitution.
The victims believed they were investing in a government-backed show called “DHS: The Series.”
Heruth, 41, claimed she was starring and co-producing the series.
