Rosie O’Donnell will host a live variety show for NBC–which could explain why her once-daily blogging has slowed considerably.

“Rosie’s Variety Show” will air Thanksgiving-eve, Nov. 26 (8-9 p.m.) and will include a monologue and an as-yet-unannounced slate of musical guests, etc.

It could be picked up as a series, depending on how it fares in the ratings.

O’Donnell, who used to blog daily at her Web site, rosie.com, has been curiously mute the past few months. She took the entire month of August off and returned Labor Day–but posted only sporadically last month.

And, when she did return to rosie.com, her once-controversial posts–which got her into trouble when she co-hosted “The View,” and after she left the show–were short and mundane (videos of her kids, etc.).

O’Donnell might have been holding off on anything opinionated in deference to NBC, wanting to avoid any “conflicts” since the network was about to announce her new variety show.
