Part of the royal family has arrived at day 2 of the Royal Ascot — with Kate Middleton notably and mysteriously absent.

King Charles and Queen Camilla waved from their carriage as they arrived at the racecourse Wednesday.
Camilla wore a green outfit, with Charles in a grey jacket and lavender vest, paired with a black top hat.

Prince William also made an appearance, minus his wife Kate Middleton after she dropped out of the event at the last minute.
After Kate Middleton, also known as Princess Catherine of Wales, last-minute bailed on attending the Royal Ascot, her mother, Carole Middleton, was seen in a lace ensemble on day 2 of the event Wednesday.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla stepped out in their finest attire to attend the annual Royal Ascot horse race in Ascot, Britain.
King Charles was well dressed in a top hat and suit while Queen Camilla wore a pale green dress with a heart-shaped brooch and a matching green feather hat. The queen carried a white clutch and gloves to match her white and black heels.

The royal couple owns a horse named Reaching High, which will be competing in the spectacle.
The royals have been busy recently as Charles is still undergoing cancer treatment and Camilla arrived at the horse race only one day after attending the Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor castle June 16.

The Princess of Wales, 43, was not able to attend the ceremony for the past two years, last year due to her cancer treatment.

The princess was joined by the Duchess of Edinburgh and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence at the chapel's Galilee porch.
Middleton watched the procession of Ladies and Knights of the Garter through the grounds of Windsor Castle to St George's Chapel.

King Charles III (76) and Queen Camilla (77) followed at the end of the procession, both wearing plumed hats with a large white feather and dark blue velvet robes.
Middleton made her royal debut at the Order of the Garter as Prince William's girlfriend in 2008. Prince William, about 26 years old at the time, received his knighthood during the service.
Order of the Garter — or Garter Day — was founded by King Edward III in 1348 and is the most senior and the oldest British Order of Chivalry, according to the British Museum.
The royal family has a few outings during the month. In addition to the Order of the Garter, the royals also have the Royal Ascot, an annual horse race meeting, from June 17-21. The family just celebrated the Trooping of the Colours on June 14.
