A James Bond theme song is not high on the list of songs one would expect to hear a from a Russian choir.
But that’s just what the Russian Army Choir – officially called the Alexandrov Ensemble Official Armed Forces Choir – did last week when they covered “Skyfall,” Adele’s Oscar-winning song from the latest Bond movie, on a Russian morning talk show.
Video of the performance has gone viral in the days since, because as strange as it may be, it’s just as striking.
Started in 1928, the choir mainly performs traditional military tunes, but they’ve sung pop songs before, including “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Land Down Under,” reports The Daily Telegraph.
