Looks like Starz is close to signing Sam Heughan to star in its upcoming 16-episode series, “Outlander.”

Heughan, who’s starred on British TV on the BBC series “Doctors,” is “in talks” to star in “Outlander,” though no deal has been finalized, according to deadline.com.

“Outlander” is based on the Diana Gabaldon’s seven-book series, which has sold 20 million copies worldwide, according to deadline.
