ABSTRACT:

“Seasons of Love” is the sort of miniseries we adore curling up with.

It bathes life’s basics – love and lust, land, family, family feuds, the dream of wealth and the reality of poor judgment – in a gorgeous golden glow that only an expertly done costume drama can bestow on back-breaking life in the late 1800s.

And it makes us wish that we could look like Rachel Ward while working up blisters next to Peter Strauss.

Based on “The Earth Abideth,” which was written by George Dell in 1938 but not enearthed until 1986, “Seasons” was co-produced by kevin Sullivan (“Anne of Green Gables”) and Strauss, who was built for intimately sprawling family sagas.
