FORGET celebrities: Oscar de la Renta’s show provided Fashion Week’s best socialite eye candy so far, including Nan Kempner, Brooke Astor, Blaine Trump, C.Z. and Cornelia Guest and junior members of the Miller and Lauder clans.

And as for the show? We loved his bright leather pieces, his delicate take on the peasant top and his denim evening wear. But we adored his rhumba-worthy tropical-print short-shorts and ruffled silk dresses.

Fresh and fun, these pieces were pretty without being cheesy and sexy without being sleazy.
