Paula Abdul will host an updated version of “Star Search” for ABC, according to reports.

Abdul is expected to host the show and do some judging, according to ew.com.

Abdul had reportedly been wooed earlier this year by ABC to appear on “American Idol” — and there’s talk she would join Simon Cowell on the US version of his British hit, “The X Factor,” which premieres on Fox next year.

Abdul left “American Idol” after the end of last season.

The original “Star Search” was hosted by Ed McMahon; CBS reprised the show in 2003 for a short-lived version hosted by Arsenio Hall.
