Back for seconds Fox’s “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” returned to earth Monday in its regular timeslot (9-10 p.m.), averaging 10.1 million viewers (down from the 18.3 million it pulled after last Sunday’s Giants game). “Sarah” did finish second in total viewers and adults 18-49 (behind “Deal or No Deal“).

If I was an ABC exec, I’d be a tad-bit concerned that a new episode of “Notes from the Underbelly” lost 5 ½ million viewers from its lead- in (“Dance War“).

Scott Matthews is out the door at Ch. 5 – and is joining another former local news di rector, Bart Feder, at CNN.

Matthews, who spent four years at Ch. 5, was named CNN’s director of pro gramming yesterday. Feder was Ch. 7’s news director be fore joining thefeedroom.com in 2000. He now becomes CNN’s senior VP for current programming.

An “extensive search” is un derway for Matthews’ re placement, according to a Ch. 5 spokeswoman. * * *

Day/night doubleheader: Ch. 4’s Sree Sreenivasan moderates this morning’s dis cussion at the NY Media In formation Exchange Group; NY1’s Budd Mishkin inter views Carl Bernstein tonight (8 p.m.) at the 92nd Street Y.

And Greta Van Susteren’s interview with Presi dent Bush, which she conducted recently in Abu Dhabi, airs tonight (10 p.m./FNC).

Last, but not least: * Maggie Rodriguez chats exclusively with Emme on today’s “Early Show” about Emme’s battle with cancer – and more (7-9 a.m./Ch. 2).

* Meat Loaf hosts a new, 10-episode trivia show, “Rock & A Hard Place,” premiering Jan. 23 on DIRECTV (The 101). Rock stars will answer trivia questions for charity.

* In the hunt: Sirius has re newed Jackie Martling’s “Joke” show, co-hosted by Ian Karr, for another year (7 p.m. Tuesdays/Howard 101).
