STARR REPORT
Benatar, Geraldo: ‘Charmed,’ they’re sure
Rocker Pat Benatar and her husband, Neil Geraldo, will guest star on the April 6 episode of “Charmed” (8 p.m./Ch. 11) – playing themselves and singing one of Benatar’s biggest hits, “Heartbreaker.”
The episode revolves around luck, or the girls’ (Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan) perceived lack of it. But that all changes when Benatar’s car breaks down – and she and Geraldo come knocking at their door, asking to use the phone and promising the girls they’ll do them a huge favor in return (guess what that is?).
NBC: We ‘Kid’ you not
Maybe it’s time to really find out if your child really is talented – just like you’ve been telling everyone within earshot since he/she was born.
NBC is holding auditions for its newest reality show, “The Search for the Most Talented Kid in America,” this Saturday (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) at the Waldorf-Astoria (301 Park Ave.). The show will feature kids nationwide competing in an overall talent competition in three different age groups (3-7, 8-12 and 13-15), judged by a panel of celebrity judges. Three finalists from each show will advance to the final round in Los Angeles – competing for a “large cash prize,” according to NBC.
The kids in question must be between 3 and 15 as of April 11 – and should be “energetic, enthusiastic and talented.” They must be accompanied to the audition by a parent or legal guardian, must bring a pen, recent ID and photocopy of their birth certificate and must be willing to fly to L.A. Ritter’s Disney blackmail shocker
John Ritter reveals to the March issue of In Style the real reason he decided to return to network TV in ABC’s “8 Simple Rules,” which has become a Tuesday-night hit.
“Well, it’s a Disney show, and [Disney chief] Michael Eisner had those naked pictures of me that Federico Fellini took on the set of ‘Satyricon,’ ” he jokes. “I was a young actor at the time; I didn’t know any better. But Mr. Eisner told me that if I didn’t do the show, he’d go public.”
DiMaggio, Koufax biopics on deck?
Hollywood agent Joel Gotler is shopping Morris Engelberg’s new book, “DiMaggio: Setting the Record Straight,” for a movie, cable or TV deal. And insiders are buzzing about a possible network movie on the life of Sandy Koufax. His 1955 rookie card, in mint condition, is being auctioned off at andymadecauctions.com through March 21.
