Even those who don’t know their Bach from their Mussorgsky have heard of Joshua Bell, the fiercely talented fiddler who’s launched a hundred fan sites.
Being gorgeous helps, of course – not for nothing was he named one of People magazine’s “Most Beautiful People in the World” – but at 36, Bell has the chops, too.
And he just seems to get better – more relaxed as time goes by, and better at connecting with the audience.
Catch him and his red violin tonight with the Mostly Mozart Orchestra, playing Mozart (natch) and the deliriously difficult, gypsy-influenced “Zigeunerweisen.”
Don’t be surprised if a few members of the audience swoon.
8 p.m. Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. $30 to $50, (212) 721-6500.
