I was rather underwhelmed by the new cast of “God of Carnage,” as you can see in today’s review. It was all so sluggish that when Annie Potts (in the role created by Hope Davis) did the now-infamous projectile vomiting, I was able to figure out how she pulled it off. The first time I saw the show, I was so distracted by the mayhem on stage that I was taken by surprise — even though I knew the scene was coming.
At it is now, I’m not sure the show is worth the trip. Which begs the question: Should it be kept on? The production recouped its investment quickly and it’s been gravy ever since. Is it the only reason to keep it running? I realize it provides employment to many people, but perhaps the producers should reinvest their $$$ in a new show, and create more jobs.
