Full disclosure: I’ve never bought a purse in my life. I also don’t link milestones to what I wore or where I bought what I wore. This clearly gave me a completely unbiased point of view from which to evalute Nora and Delia Ephron’s “Love, Loss, and What I Wore.” The show is all about clothes and accessories, and the role they play in women’s lives. Surprisingly — especially since I think that the overrated Nora Ephron has single-handedly rewritten the rom-com codes for the worst — I had a decent time at “Love, Loss.” A lot of it had to do with the five pros on stage. Special props to Natasha Lyonne, who after her much-publicized problems has made a very smart move in returning to the stage with this low-pressure project. Still, if I’d had a choice, I would have preferred seeing the cast that takes over on October 21, as it includes Mary Louise Wilson and Jane Lynch. I hope the latter’s participation means that she’s warming up for more theater work. There’s no such thing as too much Jane Lynch. Same goes for Kristin Chenoweth, who’s in the group starting on November 18.
