The “National Theatre Live” broadcasts are a good opportunity for us to see London productions that don’t cross the Atlantic. But the next screening coming down the pike is actually preceding the live show here by a couple of months. On February 3, you can go to the NYU Skirball Center, City Cinema 123 on the UES or Kew Gardens Cinema in Queens to watch the Donmar Warehouse’s “King Lear” directed by Michael Grandage (Broadway’s “Red,” “Hamlet” and “Frost/Nixon”) and starring Derek “I, Claudius” Jacobi. More screenings will occur in February, and the average ticket is $20.

Or … locals can wait until April 28-June 5 and see the same show live at the BAM Harvey for $20. OK, that price applies only as part of a weekday subscription — expect to fork out $95 for an orchestra seat during the weekend.

Incidentally, this “King Lear” concludes a very Shakespearean Spring for BAM: In March they’re presenting Propeller’s “The Comedy of Errors” and early April it’s Cheek by Jowl’s “Macbeth.”
