Maybe he should have thought twice before investing in a show called “FLOP! The Musical.”
A theatrical producer who backed such hits as Off-Broadway’s original production of “Rent” is suing to get back his $100,000 investment in “FLOP!” complaining the show was never produced or even developed.
In 2014, producer Allan S. Gordon gave the cash to director Anthony Cantalupo, whose company, Nomad On Stage LLC, was developing a Broadway show, the lawsuit alleges.
But “FLOP!” failed to conduct any readings or developmental productions, and Cantalupo refused to give Gordon his money back, the suit says.
Cantalupo could not be reached.
