In case you haven’t heard enough about a certain musical already, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jeremy McCarter’s new companion book, “Hamilton: The Revolution” (Grand Central Publishing, out Tuesday) delivers lots of factoids and insights (with quite a bit of self-congratulation).
Here are a few.
◆ “Hamilton’s” script has more than 24,000 words — more than “The Merchant of Venice” or “Richard II.” Lazy Shakespeare!
◆ Aaron Burr’s “I’m a trust fund, baby, you can trust me” is Miranda’s wife Vanessa’s favorite line in the show.
◆ Theatergoers may not notice, but choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler makes Burr move “in straight lines, because he sees no option, and Hamilton moves in arcs, because he sees all possibilities.”
◆ The book includes the entire text, including “Tomorrow there’ll be more of us,” the only scene not on the cast album.
◆ King George’s song “You’ll Be Back” features musical nods to The Beatles’ “Penny Lane” and “Getting Better.”
◆ The original casting notice described Angelica Schuyler (Hamiton’s sister-in-law) as the unlikely “combination of Nicki Minaj and [from “A Little Night Music”] Desiree Armfeldt.”
