Mark your calendars: On Monday, November 22, I will participate in a panel about “The Scottsboro Boys,” more specifically the musical’s journey “from inception to Broadway.” We’ll get the story straight from the horse’s mouth, as book writer David Thompson will be on hand, as well as cast members Colman Domingo and Sharon Washington. Other participants include critic Steven Suskin from Variety, and theater writer David Rooney, who will moderate.

The event takes place at 7pm at the Vineyard Theatre, where the show had its New York premiere in the spring, and is part of Vineyard VOICES, a series that “offers an opportunity for audiences and artists to go behind-the-scenes and hear the voices of theatre professionals with insightful, colorful anecdotes and observations about working in the theatre.”

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here. You can read both of my reviews to see where I stand: the Broadway show can be found here and the off-Broadway version is here.
