CRAIG Kilborn accomplished the unthinkable Tuesday night in his debut ad the new host of “The Late Late Show” on CBS: He actually came across like he was born for the job.

Such an achievement had been unthinkable to some critics (OK, me) because Kilborn’s appeal as the host of Comedy Central’s “Daily Show” had been so elusive to them (OK, me again).
