A14-year-old girl falls prey to an Internet stalker in the screamy and pointless drama “Trust.”

Clive Owen plays the increasingly obsessed dad who wants revenge on the online perv who took sexual advantage of the little girl (a superb Liana Liberato) while Mom (Catherine Keener) is more attuned to the girl’s emotional problems.

The script is blaring and obvious at all times, and in his second directorial effort, David Schwimmer doesn’t have a clue how dull it is for the audience to endure scene after scene of anguish, crying and screaming matches. All of this leads to nothing except a fact everyone who isn’t actually a character in this movie knew going in: That you can’t trust random weirdos you meet in virtual chat rooms.
