The best. “Oprah” give away. Ever.

Oprah Winfrey lavished a 2012 Volkswagen Beetle on each member of her shrieking, crying, stomping studio audience yesterday as part of her “Oprah’s Favorite Things” episode — Part 2.

Winfrey saved the best for last, unveiling the Beetle — or at least a shadowy facsimile thereof — at the end of yesterday’s “Favorite Things” episode.

The fully redesigned Beetle won’t be available until next May, and Volkswagen allowed Winfrey to show only a silhouette of the car (which looked pretty much like the old Beetle).

However, Volkswagen did fly a prototype of the 2012 Beetle from Germany to the Harpo studios in Chicago, where only Oprah — because, well, she’s Oprah — was allowed to lay eyes on the revamped Bug.

In addition to the Beetle, Winfrey also gave away, among many other goodies, an iPad, a $1,000 gift certificate to Nordstrom’sand a pair of diamond-encrusted earrings valued at nearly $2,000.

On Part 1 of Winfrey’s “Favorite Things,” which aired last Friday, the big giveaway items were a Caribbean cruise, a diamond watch and a Sony Bravia 3D TV.

Winfrey decided to extend her annual giveaway episode an extra day to help mark the final season of “Oprah.”
