CBS’ remake of “Helter Skelter” – the Charles Manson story – began production late last week with an actor who seems to specialize in creepy roles, Jeremy Davies, playing the lead.
CBS’ 1976 production of “Helter Skelter” was the highest-rated two-night miniseries ever.
Based on former prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi’s bestselling book, the network says it will update the story but trim the movie back to three hours.
Davies played a disturbed guy from outer space in his last film, “Solaris,” as well.
Bruno Kirby has been cast as Bugliosi.
