A SMALL VICTORY FOR JETS
THE Jets lost to the Raiders on Sunday – but they were big winners in the ratings game.
Sunday’s 30-10 Jets loss notched a 23.6 on CBS – the network’s highest-rated Sunday AFC Divisional Playoff game since 1998 (Denver-Kansas City).
Viewership for Sunday’s game peaked between 7 and 7:30 p.m., with a 26.4 during the second half, according to overnight Nielsen numbers.
Sunday’s Jets game was also up 16 percent from the 2000 Tennessee-Indianapolis AFC Divisional Playoff game, which aired from 4 to 7:30 p.m. and was the last time CBS aired the late Sunday AFC Divisional Playoff game.
The game also kept New Yorkers riveted, as Ch.2 averaged a whopping 2 million households from 4:45 to 8:15 p.m.
Sunday’s Jets game capped off a good sports weekend for CBS.
Saturday’s Pittsburgh-Tennessee game notched a 20.3 overnight ratings – tying NBC for the highest-rated Saturday AFC Divisional Playoff game since Jan. ’94 (Raiders-Buffalo).
