HOOPS star LeBron James, who went straight from high school to NBA stardom, thinks his life story would make a great TV series.

James, 23, and rapper/producer Ice Cube reportedly met with ABC last summer to pitch a one-hour drama about James – who went from his Ohio high school to his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers and quickly established himself as this generation’s Michael Jordan.

Known as “King James,” he inked a $90 million Nike endorsement deal before playing his first professional game – but has lived up to the hype, leading the Cavaliers to three consecutive playoff appearances.

There’s also the possibility that James could end up as a member of the New York Knicks, who have freed up salary in order to make a run at James when he becomes a free agent in 2010.

James wouldn’t star in the ABC series – targeted for next fall – but would produce it with Ice Cube under his company, SpringHill Productions.

He also told reporters he wants the show to cover more than his on-court heroics, specifically the pressures he faces from friends and people looking to take advantage of his celebrity and wealth.

ABC officials were unavailable for comment.
