ABC is getting ready to take a bigger chunk out of the plastic surgery business.

Production sources say the network has ordered an additional six episodes of “Extreme Makeover,” the reality show in which people get to change their appearances with plastic surgery, dental work, tummy tucks and stylist makeovers.

Despite the order, ABC has yet to add the show to its schedule, sources said.

“Extreme Makeover” which was initially blasted by critics, turned out to be a major hit for the network last week when 13.2 million viewers tuned in.

ABC immediately scheduled a re-airing of the show this week and got the ball rolling on new episodes.

Casting for the new episodes begins in January. Viewers who are interested potentially going under the knife can apply to be on the show through ABC’s Web site or attend an open casting call in one of eleven cities the show’s producers will travel to in the next four weeks.

Producers will be in Jacksonville, Fla. this Saturday, Los Angeles on Tuesday Jan. 7, and are expected to make other stops next month in New York, Orlando, Atlanta, Boston, Phoenix, Portland, Kansas City and Chicago and Louisville, Ky.
