(ABOVE) AND BEYOND
On a clear day you can see forever from the rooftop bar at the SoHo hotel called 160 Thompson.
Unless, of course, you’ve got your beer goggles on, and then you’ll only see as far as your next cocktail.
So sip slowly, and drink in the view – hands down the most spectacular from any bar in the city.
North to south, east to west, the sight of our beloved cityscape laid out 12 stories below is (literally) breathtaking – and oh-so-romantic, especially with an Indian summer sunset flaming across the sky.
As with anything this special, access to the bar, called (above) sixty, is limited. Hotel guests have carte blanche, as do a select group of movers and shakers who have been given “keys” to the penthouse level.
Our advice: Beg, borrow or steal a key – or befriend a hotel guest. But you’ll have to hustle while the fair weather lasts – this outdoor bar goes into hibernation at the onset of winter.
(above) sixty, 160 Thompson St., between Spring and Broome Streets; (212) 219-2000.
