ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING

At the 59E59 Theater, 59 E. 59th St. TicketCentral, (212) 279-4200. Through June 13.

THERE’S “Absolutely Fabulous” – and then there’s “Absolutely Fascinating,” the new revue by the British satirical singing trio Fascinating Aida.

The lively troupe consists of Dillie Keane, a smart and sharp Irishwoman of a certain age; Adele Anderson, a tart lady from Birmingham; and Liza Pulman, a bright blonde from London.

Keane and Anderson have written the songs, which parody fads from a resolutely centrist point of view. They speak of “the twilight world of the heterosexual” and sing of the tyranny of “sexual reorientation.” In other words, this mildly clever revue has nothing whatsoever to do with TV’s “AbFab.”

Eastern religion, or rather the chic Western craze for it, is the amusing target in “One True Religion.” In “Mistaken Identity,” the women claim to be mistaken often for glamorous celebrities.

All in all, it’s a smoothly funny, if not especially original, evening.
