Oscar winner Adrien Brody (“The Pianist”) will play legendary magician Harry Houdini in a four-hour miniseries produced by the History Channel.

Coming off its success with Mark Burnett’s “The Bible” and “Hatfields & McCoys,” History’s latest project will chronicle Houdini’s humble beginnings up to his achievement of global fame. Historical figures such as Rasputin and “Sherlock Holmes” creator Arthur Conan Doyle will also figure in the story. Those roles have yet to becast, but we do know who’s playing Houdini’s wife, Bess — Kristen Connolly (“House of Cards”).

Filming is slated to begin this fall.
