‘ANGEL” star David Boreanaz is putting the bite into ABC.

Boreanaz, whose long-running “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spin-off wrapped up last spring after five seasons on the WB Network, is set to star in a new ABC drama pilot about an undercover hitman.

If the show makes it onto the network’s schedule, Boreanaz will play a cop who goes undercover in the world of murder for hire, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show is based on the life of Jack Ballantine, a longtime member of the Phoenix Police Department who spent years doing deep cover work as a mob hit man and motorcycle gang member.

If the show gets picked up, it could jam up the rumored “Angel” made-for-TV movie that fans have been buzzing about.
