BACKDROP: BIG EASY
NEW Orleans is the hot spot to set a TV show right now.
In the last month, the networks have commissioned at least two new series set in the flood-ravaged city.
The latest is ABC, which picked up a script for a cop show based in New Orleans.
The script, from “Alias” executive producer John Eisendrath, will be about New Orleans cops dealing with life in Katrina’s aftermath.
The city is also the backdrop for a proposed new series called “NoLa,” a Spike Lee drama, shot on location, that’s being being developed for NBC.
“NoLa” will focus on city residents trying to rebuild after Katrina.
No airdates have been set for either show.
