Barbara Walters’ heart-valve surgery “went well,” her publicist said yesterday.
Walters, 80, announced on Monday’s “The View” that she would have surgery to replace a faulty heart valve and would take the summer off before returning in September.
“Barbara Walters’ surgery went well and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome,” Walters’ publicist said in a statement.
“Ms. Walters is recovering as expected. No further statements will be made at this time.”
Walters said she expects to call into “The View” every now and then while recovering.
