Barbara Walters’ annual Os car-night celebrity interview special will fade to black.

Walters said yesterday that her upcoming “Barbara Walters Special,” airing March 7, will be the last of the star-driven chatfests she’s hosted on Oscar night since 1981.

“To be honest, I feel like I’ve been there, done that . . . I felt it was enough,” Walters said yesterday on “The View.”

“I just feel we should quit while we’re ahead.”

Walters, 80, will continue co-hosting “The View” and hosting her annual “10 Most Fascinating People” special, which airs in prime time.

She will also continue to host occasional ABC News specials.

Walters’ final Oscar-night telecast, airing at 7 p.m., will feature Sandra Bullock, nominated as Best Actress for “The Blind Side,” and “Precious” co-star Mo’Nique, nominated as Best Supporting Actress.

The specials have averaged just under 12 million viewers the past two years as a lead-in to the Oscars.

Over the years, Walters’ Oscar-night specials have included Cher, Halle Berry, George Clooney, Helen Mirren, Bette Davis, Anthony Hopkins, Steve Spielberg and Sophia Loren.

Her first special, in 1981, featured Ringo Starr and wife Barbara Bach.
