‘BOYS OPEN BIG
THE new $1.2-billion Dallas Cowboys stadium made its debut in a pre-season game Friday night — and gave Fox a decisive ratings win.
The Cowboys and Tennessee Titans even managed to play a little football during the telecast — but the undisputed star of the night was the Cowboys new home which features a huge TV screen that hangs over the field and is 60 yards long.
Preliminary ratings indicate that Fox drew more 6.3 million viewers for the evening — big for a Friday night in August, traditionally the time of year when audiences are smallest.
Ratings showed Fox had at least one million more viewers than the No. 2 network, CBS, which showed repeats of its supernatural series, “Ghost Whisperer” and “Medium.”
