BRIT CAN’T SHOOT HOOPS
A repeat of “CSI” attracted more viewer interest than Britney Spears Thursday night.
A pregnant Spears’ tear-filled interview with Matt Lauer, which aired on “Dateline” from 9 to 10 p.m., averaged 8.9 million viewers – over 2 million viewers less than “CSI,” which showed a summer repeat in that same timeslot.
The Spears-Lauer interview, however, nearly beat the Mavs/Heat NBA Finals game on ABC from 9 to 10 p.m., which snared 9 million viewers.
Overall, Thursday night attracted typical summer viewership.
World Cup Soccer, however, continues to be a huge draw.
Locally, the Sweden-Paraguay game, which aired on Univision’s Ch. 41 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, drew 350,000 viewers – the largest timeslot audience, regardless of language, in the market.
