THAT thing that went bump in the night might be the new all-horror cable channel Scream.
It’s the latest high-profile channel slated to be winging its way into living rooms across the U.S. by next January, according to Variety.
The channel – which promises to air programming specifically geared to horror fans – is backed by “Matrix” producer Joel Silver.
Silver will also produce original programming for the channel along with Robert Zemeckis’ Dark Castle Entertainment, the studio behind horror films like “Ghost Ship,” “Thirteen Ghosts” and “House on Haunted Hill.”
The network is reported to be in final talks with two studios to license libraries of film titles related to the horror and suspense genres.
Most cable channels have always been aimed at specific audiences, while the ones with more general programming are changing their focus to stay competitive.
TNN for instance repositioned itself last year as Spike, a network for men.
