Space-challenged apartment dwellers might be tempted to throw out their regular ovens once they get their hands on Cuisinart’s new Convection Oven/Toaster-Broiler.

Don’t let the compact, digital device (which is no bigger than a traditional toaster oven) fool you. It’s quicker than its larger, fire-breathing cousin and gives more accurate temperature readings.

The unit can cook a 41/2-pound chicken 30 percent faster than a regular oven, and uses a sensor to maintain precise oven temperature.

Other features include custom settings for reheating, defrosting, broiling and toasting.

It costs $179 at Williams-Sonoma.
