Caroline Kennedy may break her silence next week about the controversial TV miniseries based on her family.

The daughter of John F. Kennedy is set to appear next Thursday night — in the middle of the week-long series “The Kennedys” — on Joy Behar’s cable talk show on HLN.

Kennedy and her cousin, Maria Shriver, reportedly spearheaded a behind-the-scenes effort to keep the eight-hour series, billed as a warts-and-all portrayal of the family’s history, off the air.

The History channel spent a reported $25 million producing the series — starring Greg Kinnear as JFK and Katie Holmes as Jackie — then suddenly dropped it, saying it did not fit the network’s “brand.”

After several other networks passed on the series, the little-known Reelz cable channel agreed to air it starting this Sunday.

According to reports — including an investigation by The Post last January — friends of the Kennedys exerted heavy personal pressure on board members at several networks to prevent the series from being aired on a major channel.

Caroline has declined to comment either about the series or about her reported role in its suppression so far.

Asked if Kennedy would talk about the miniseries controversy, a spokesperson for Behar said: “She’s on to discuss her new book, political news and other topics.”
