The new season of Donald Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” premiered to mediocre numbers.

Last night’s opening episode, which saw Andrew Dice Clay get the heave-ho, averaged 8.8 million viewers from 9 to 11 p.m.–third in its timeslot in total viewers.

The show did, however, finish a close second in the coveted adults 18-49 demo behind ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters.”

Tom Selleck’s CBS movie, “Jessie Stone: Thin Ice,” trumped both “Apprentice” and “Brothers,” snaring 15 million viewers in head-to-head competition.
