Isn’t it a bit early for a Christmas movie? The producers of the comedy “Christmas in Compton,’’ directed by David Raynr, obviously don’t think so.

Keith David stars as Big Earl, owner of a Yule-tree lot in Compton, Calif. Omar Gooding plays his son, a would-be music producer, and Eric Roberts is the villainous boss of a record company. The actors are personable, but they’re burdened with a script full of stereotypical characters and offensive jokes. By the time Christmas Day arrives, this movie will thankfully be long forgotten.
