The fifth annual Arlene’s Grocery Picture Show winds up tonight and tomorrow.
This truly-indie flick fest, which unreeled 80 films at one venue its first year, has expanded to 500 titles at four Lower East Side clubs – the Living Room, Slipper Room, MF Gallery and Arlene’s Grocery.
The awards ceremony will be held at Arlene’s Grocery (95 Stanton St.; [212] 358-3315) on Monday. Presenters include singer Nelly McKay, directors Peter Bogdanovich and Albert Maysles, “Dolomite” star Rudy Ray Moore and guest of honor, actor Ben Gazzara.
Winners get a mounted can of beans – “The Groceries.” Admission is free (see http://www.filmsfilmsfilms.com).
