PUNK rocker Erick Lee Purkhiser, best known as Lux Interior of the famed psychobilly band the Cramps, died yesterday while in the care of Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, Calif., of a heart ailment.

Interior, along with his bandmate wife, Kristy “Poison Ivy” Wallace, brought their newly formed group to New York’s booming punk scene in 1975, where they became mainstays at clubs such as CBGB and Max’s Kansas City.
