CBS might want to hire Quentin Tarantino more often.

Thursday’s two-hour season finale of “CSI,” directed by Tarantino, snared 31 million viewers – the show’s best-ever May sweeps numbers.

In the episode (8-10 p.m.), “CSI” team member Nick Stokes (George Eads) was kidnapped and buried alive in a see-through coffin – while his colleagues tried desperately to locate him and save his life.

“CSI” crushed the finale of NBC’s “The Apprentice” (13.7 million viewers).
