Parting is such tweet sorrow for Ann Curry.

Curry returned to Twitter yesterday after a weeklong layoff — quoting Mahatma Gandhi in a spiritual tweet alluding to her June ouster from “Today” after only a year as Matt Lauer’s co-host.

“When I despair I remember that throughout history, truth and love have always won,” Curry tweeted, calling the quote, “One of my favorites.”

She was responding to one of her Twitter followers who, defending Curry, tweeted out this Gandhi quote: “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”

Curry’s tweets have, thus far, been her only public comments since being replaced by Savannah Guthrie and being named an NBC News national/international correspondent.

“Today” has since struggled, but rebounded this week, beating “GMA” Monday and Tuesday.
