Hundreds of shoppers at the Time Warner Center in Columbus Circle received an unexpected show when a mix of professional and amateur dancers started belting out the song, “If My Friends Could See Me Now.”

The Thursday event was part of a series of summer shows by the group Break Out in Song, which stages free Broadway-like shows in non-traditional performance spaces.
