Term: “To pull a ‘Sopranos’ ending”

Explanation: You’re seeing someone, you’re into them, and everything seems great. You’re going with it. You’re working it. You’ve got a watchful eye on the diner door but, meanwhile, you’ve got the onion rings, and boy, are they good. “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” is blasting on the jukebox, you and your boy are “focusing on the good times” – and then BOOM! The screen fades to black, and you never hear from him again. You and your friends will come up with about 75 different interpretations for what happened, but the truth is, you’ll never know. Because when you get relationship-whacked, you never hear it coming – it’s just . . . nothing.

Correct usage: “Tim and I were seeing each other for three weeks and I thought everything was fine, but then he pulled a ‘Sopranos’ ending on me.”
