Not since Linda Hamilton’s muscle-bound hellcat Sarah Connor unleashed a can of whup-ass on Arnie in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” has any woman decimated her foes as awesomely, as sexily, as thoroughly as Carrie-Ann Moss’ Trinity in “The Matrix Reloaded.”

The catsuit-clad woman warrior is just one of the modern-day Dianas kicking butt to kingdom come on movie screens this season.

From Angelina Jolie as the pneumatic video-game heroine Lara Croft to newcomer Kristanna Loken as a deadly cyborg Terminatrix, the high-kicking, weapon-wielding women of summer are packing some powerful heat.

Power: Kung fu virtuoso, drives a mean motorcycle.

You’ve come a long way, baby: In the cheesy mid-’90s soap “Models Inc.” Moss played Carrie Spencer, a model considered past her prime (at 27!) who turns to prostitution.

Kristanna Loken, 23

Movie: “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” (July 2)

Character: A cyborg killing-machine named T-X

Power: Has control over machines and anything mechanical.

Going commando: Loken, a 5-foot-11 Norwegian model and actress, is completely naked in the movie’s final street-scene sequence, which required the shutting down of L.A.’s Rodeo Drive during filming.

Angelina Jolie, 27

Movie: “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life” (July 25)

Character: Globe-trotting archeologist-adventurer Lara Croft

Power: Well-versed in gadgetry and adept at mental puzzles.

Stunt stunner: The film features a spectacular flying jump from the top of a Hong Kong sky-scraper which was shot without special effects.

Kelly Hu, 35

Movie: “X2: X-Men United,” out now.

Character: The villainous mutant Deathstrike

Power: Has skin-shredding steel talons and can kick kung-fu butt

Silent but deadly: Deathstrike only has one line and it’s hardly a memorable one: She says to a janitor – actually shape-shifter Mystique – “What are you doing in here?”

Drew Barrymore, 28, Lucy Liu, 34, and Cameron Diaz, 30

Movie: “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” (June 27)

Characters: Angels Dylan Sanders, Alex Munday and Natalie Cook

Power: Martial arts masters.

Where’s Farrah?: Jaclyn Smith, a member of the original cast of the “Charlie’s Angels” TV series, has a cameo in this sequel.

Eva Mendes, 25

Movie: “2 Fast 2 Furious” (June 6)

Character: Female undercover agent Monica Clemente

Power: Burns rubber street-racing.

Face of the future: Mendes, who appears in four movies this year, has also landed a Revlon endorsement deal, putting her in the company of Halle Berry, Julianne Moore and Rachel Weisz.
