Discovery will pay tribute to the stars of its “Stormchasers” series killed last Friday by a tornado in Oklahoma.

Tim Samaras, Carl Young and Paul Samaras died while chasing the killer tornado near El Reno, Okla.

The men starred on “Stormchasers,” which tracked their previous exploits chasing and documenting tornadoes.

Mile Wide Tornado: Oklahoma Disaster,” airing tomorrow at 10 p.m., will include highlights of the trio’s past exploits and will chronicle the killer tornado that traveled over 17 miles and devastated part of Oklahoma in a span of 45 minutes last May 31.

It was the second massive tornado to strike that region of Oklahoma in a two-week span.

The men — all of whom had years of experience tracking and chasing tornadoes — were killed when the truck in which they were riding was picked up and thrown by the force of the tornado.

“Mile Wide” will examine how the May 31 tornado formed.

It will also take a look at how it differed from a tornado of the same magnitude that tore through the region in 1999 — and how Oklahom’s early tornado detection system saved many lives.
