‘ACCELERATING America,” a documentary directed by Tim Hotchner, makes its New York debut today at the Museum of Art and Design.

The film follows three students who attend the Urban Collaborative Accelerated Program (UCAP), a public middle school for at-risk children. It captures the difficulties the students encounter in their school and home lives, from academic struggles to living in poverty.

UCAP has caught the attention of Broadway’s Kelli O’Hara, as well as Gay and Nan Talese, who are slated to attend the premiere.
